Zwiesel is located in the heart of the Bavarian Forest in Lower Bavaria, surrounded by national park and nature reserves. Our apartments are on Ahornweg, quietly on the outskirts of Zwiesel — with direct access to nature and just a few minutes from the town centre.

What is the best way to get here?

By car: Via the A3 motorway towards Deggendorf, then the B11 to Zwiesel (approx. 40 km, 35 min). By train: Zwiesel has its own station with direct connections from Munich (approx. 2.5 hrs) and Regensburg. It is about a 15-minute walk from the station to the apartments.

Is the train station nearby?

Yes! Zwiesel train station is about 15 minutes on foot from our apartments — very manageable even with luggage. A taxi service is also available in Zwiesel.

How does check-in work?

Accepted Answer

Check-in is simple and flexible via a key safe — no personal meeting required, check-in is possible any time from 3 PM. After completing your digital online check-in, you will automatically receive all access details and the key safe code by email.

Is there WiFi in the apartments?

Accepted Answer

Yes, fast high-speed WiFi (fibre connection) is available free of charge in both apartments — ideal for working remotely, video calls or streaming. The WiFi password will be sent to you by email after online check-in.

What is the aktivCARD and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

The aktivCARD is the guest card of the National Park Bavarian Forest holiday region. With it, you have free admission to over 150 leisure facilities throughout your stay: cable cars (incl. Arber cable car), indoor and outdoor swimming pools, museums, the Arber ski resort, and free use of public transport across the entire Regen district. The aktivCARD is not included in the rental price — it is paid conveniently together with the Zwiesel tourist tax (Kurtaxe) during digital online check-in.

What are the best day trips from here?

The region offers countless highlights: the Großer Arber (1,456 m, skiing & hiking, 15 km), the Bavarian Forest National Park (5 km), the picturesque Kleiner Arbersee lake, mountain bike trails, the summit trail, the historic Bodenmais silver mine and the Frauenau glass museum — all within 30 minutes.

Is there an EV charging station or e-bike charging?

There is currently no charging station in the building itself, but you will find several options for charging electric cars and e-bikes within a 10-minute walk — including at Zwiesel train station and in the town centre.

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Payment is processed securely via our payment partner Stripe. We accept: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal. A 30% deposit is due within 7 days of booking confirmation, with the remaining balance due 4 weeks before arrival.

Can I get an invoice?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we are happy to issue an invoice on request — for example for business travellers, tradespeople or for tax purposes. Please let us know at the time of booking or via email. We are a small business under § 19 UStG (German tax law), meaning no VAT is charged.

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations are possible up to 42 days before arrival for a €30 processing fee. After that: 42–28 days before: 30% of the total price, 28–14 days: 60%, less than 14 days or no-show: 90%. We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.

Are the apartments suitable for tradespeople or workers?

Accepted Answer

Yes, both apartments are well-suited for tradespeople and workers. You will find a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering, washing machine, fast WiFi and a large car park — suitable for vans too. Weekly rates are available on request. Invoicing is of course available (small business § 19 UStG).

For nature and quiet, accommodation right at the National Park has a clear advantage — shorter distances to trails, more peace, and usually better prices than a town hotel. Our apartments are just a few kilometres from the National Park entrance while still offering small-town infrastructure — station, shops and doctors in Zwiesel. If you want both quiet and short trips for supplies, this beats a plain town hotel.

For hikers, a self-catering apartment is often the more flexible choice: breakfast times, packed lunches and dinner can be adapted freely to your tour plans, without fixed hotel times.
